Journalism student spanks Scranton Times for error

Editor Larry Beaupre responds to the young woman's letter complaining about a Sears-Kmart headline error by writing, "We regard the error as serious and are taking appropriate steps to help ensure it will not happen again." In other words, a copy editor is headed to the night police beat. Sorry, whoever you are.

Scranton Times tries to quash subpoena of reporter Jennifer Henn

The subpoena comes in the wake of a story Henn wrote about Lackawanna County commissioners Randy Castellani and Joe Corcoran.

"This is nothing more than an attempt to intimidate the reporting process," said Lawrence K. Beaupre, managing editor of the Times-Tribune newspapers, in a story written by Dave Singleton.
